Residents receive essential healthcare in long term care facilities, but it’s the Activities department that gives them the opportunity to create a new life. Facility residents don’t have to go to work. They don’t have to cook, clean, or take care of other chores. When life tasks no longer take up the bulk of the day, it’s essential to fill the time with something else constructive. At Ashton Parke Care Center we encourage residents to participate in activities everyday, 7 days a week. We customize our activities schedule to the needs of our residents and allow them to have an active part in the planning and implementation of the activity schedule. Activities from community outings, bingo, dominoes, gardening, to our weekly happy hour with live music.
Residents are also encouraged to participate in Ashton’s Resident Counsel. There they can meet once a month or more often if desired.
